Fire & Ice Returns to Downtown Goshen for January First Fridays (Friday, Jan. 2, 2026)

Downtown Goshen is kicking off the new year with one of its most-loved winter traditions: First Fridays: Fire & Ice, happening Friday, January 2, 2026, from 5–9 p.m.

Goshen’s First Fridays have become a signature community celebration—each month bringing a fresh theme, local energy, and a reason to spend the evening uptown exploring shops, restaurants, and pop-up happenings across downtown.

What to expect at “Fire & Ice”

This year’s Fire & Ice festival combines winter wonder with a little heat—literally. Visitors can stroll downtown to see ice sculptures (including live carving), catch fire performances, and enjoy family-friendly moments like photo opportunities on an Ice Throne or Ice Sleigh.
To keep things cozy, there will also be outdoor fires with free marshmallows for roasting, plus food trucks and warm options available as you explore.

Stop by the Goshen Historical Museum (open late!)

The Goshen Historical Museum will be closed on New Year’s Day (Thursday, January 1, 2026), but we’ll be open on Friday, January 2, and staying open late until 8:00 p.m.
If you’re uptown for Fire & Ice, make us one of your stops—warm up inside, take in Goshen’s stories, and enjoy the energy of downtown during one of the biggest First Fridays of the year.

Make a night of it

Bundle up, bring friends or family, and plan to wander: downtown is at its best when the sidewalks are full, the lights are on, and the community is out celebrating together. Fire & Ice is the perfect way to start 2026—right here in the heart of Goshen.
